Sediment water filters are used to reduce or completely remove physical particles larger than a certain size from tap water.
The sediment filter (microfiltration) reliably filters sand, deposits, dirt and rust from the tap water. It is ideal as a pre-filter because it filters coarse particles with its 5 micron membrane and thus extends the service life of the subsequent activated carbon filter.
